Dear Colleagues,

All of you, each day, fulfill important roles and carry out essential work in support of Harvard’s mission. As the University continues the search for our next president, that process can benefit greatly from the perspective and considerations each of you has to offer. I write to invite you to share your input on the search for Harvard’s next leader.

The Presidential Search Committee has appointed a Staff Advisory Committee, identified below and in a recent Gazette article, to play a lead role in soliciting advice related to the search from the much wider population of staff members throughout Harvard (complementary efforts are underway for University faculty and students). The members of the Staff Advisory Committee met recently to discuss our engagement strategy this fall. We are excited to hear from you as we contemplate our collective aspirations for Harvard and the personal and professional qualities in our next leader who will help us achieve them. We hope you will participate in the process by:

1. Attending one of two all-University staff, virtual (Zoom) feedback sessionsthat will be facilitated by members of the Staff Advisory Committee – please register in advance for one of the below meeting times and the Zoom link will be provided: 
   • September 28 from 11:00 am-12:00 pm
   • October 11 from 3:00-4:00 pm
2. Attending a School- or Central Administration-based feedback session organized locally and facilitated by members of the Staff Advisory Committee – please look out for more information from your local leadership.
3. And/or, providing written feedback directly to the Presidential Search Committee by email to psearch@harvard.edu or by submitting your responses to these questions. 

We cannot overstate the extraordinary opportunity that the search presents for the University and the importance of capturing your invaluable and wide-ranging perspectives as part of the process. Thank you in advance for your input!
