Thomas J. Hollister
As Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Tom Hollister oversees a broad array of activities encompassing financial planning, analysis, operations, and compliance. Departments that come under his direct management include the controller’s office, budgets and financial planning, risk management and audit services, treasury management, sponsored programs administration, and financial systems solutions. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Harvard Management Company.
In addition to his work at Harvard, Hollister serves today on the boards of Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts and Brookline Bancorp (NASDAQ). He also serves as chair of Brookline Bancorp's audit committee.
Tom is the former chair of the board of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and serves today as an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee. He previously served as board chair of Tufts Medical Center, Wheaton College, Charter One Bank, Citizens Bank of Massachusetts, Citizens Capital Corporation, The Initiative for a New Economy, and the Massachusetts Community & Banking Council.
Tom previously served as Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial Officer and Director of Global Partners LP, an energy midstream logistics and marketing company. The 75-year old business is a master limited partnership, listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “GLP,” and is on the Fortune 200 list of America’s largest corporations based on annual revenues.
Before joining Global Partners, Hollister was a Vice Chairman of Citizens Financial Group, the U.S. arm of the Royal Bank of Scotland, having also served as President of Citizens Bank of Massachusetts and Charter One Bank in the Midwest. Prior to Citizens, Hollister was an Executive Vice President of Bank of Boston, the nation's 9th largest banking enterprise at the time.
In addition to his board chair roles, Tom has served on the boards Global Partners LP, Macomber Construction Company, Wellforce Health, the Massachusetts Bankers Association, Rhode Island Hospital Trust Company, The Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation, and Savings Bank Life Insurance of Massachusetts.
Tom has been active over the years chairing and co-chairing numerous fund-raising efforts for the New England Center for Children, St. Francis House, Rogerson Communities, the New England Aquarium, Thompson Island Outward Bound, Tufts Medical Center and Wheaton College.
Tom has received awards on behalf of his work from Habitat for Humanity, the Small Business Administration, the New England Center for Children, Rogerson Communities, and the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations. He is a member of the Commercial Club of Boston, a shareholder of the Boston Athenaeum and a fellow of the Massachusetts Historical Society.
Tom Hollister holds a BA degree from Amherst College and an MBA from Boston University.
